RULES FOR THE 2007 SEASON

LANCASTER FARMERS’ MARKET ASSOCIATION

1.             The Market shall be available to persons or organizations interested in selling: produce, fruits, vegetables, honey, maple syrup, jams & jellies, cottage foods (baked goods) *eggs, *processed meats, *cheeses, bedding plants, cut flowers, etc. and homemade crafts of good quality and taste.

                51% of the items sold must be farm related.  No Flea Market or objectionable material.

           (The market board has the right to monitor craft items.)

         NO LIVE ANIMALS ARE TO BE SOLD!

 2.            Each Seller shall display a sign stating the PRODUCERS name and address.

3.             Vendors will be renting a space with no more than 500 feet of selling area within a space of 12/18 feet of frontage @ the cost of $20.00 per space. Payment of the $20.00 rental fee acknowledges that the vendor has signed and will abide by the rules of the Lancaster Farmers’ Market Association. Vendors may also purchase a membership with an assigned space for the fee of $100.00 to be paid in full by March 30, 2006.  Any memberships negotiated after that date will be the sum of $150.00. Assigned spaces are issued on a seniority basis of the member.

Member Spaces are held for 45 minutes after the Market opening unless prior arrangements are made with the Market Manager. Loss of an assigned space pertains only to that day, not to the entire season.

4.             Selling times for the Saturday Market are from 8:00am - 1:00PM

                Selling times for the Wednesday Market are 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (on Weds evening the County Commissioners have requested that we do not set up prior to 5:30 pm.) All members are required to adhere to that request.

5.             Vendors must remove any un-sold goods and clean up their selling space before they leave for the day. Failure to do so will result in a $25.00 dollar fee made payable to the Market Manager.

6.             No firearms, ammunitions, fireworks, drugs, alcohol, or illegal substances will be permitted on the premises. Appropriate behavior is expected from all Vendors. (No loud radios or inappropriate language.).

7.             Vendors must not leave the Market before the closing times unless they have sold all their produce or have made prior arrangements with the Market Manager.

8.             *VENDORS MUST COMPLY WITH ALL THE LAWS, ORDINANCES AND REGULATIONS OF THE UNITED STATES, STATE OF OHIO, CITY OF LANCASTER, AND ALL STATE AND LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS.  ANY LICENSES AND FEES ARE THE VENDORS RESPONSIBILITY, ANY FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM THE     MARKET. THE MARKETS INSURANCE COVERAGE WILL NOT APPLY TO ANY MEMBER      NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE ABOVE RULES AND REGULATIONS.

9.             Vendors must provide proof of product liability insurance coverage before they can set up.

                Membership fees include the markets blanket insurance coverage.

10.           THE MARKET MANAGER HAS THE LAST SAY IN ALL DISPUTES DURING THE MARKET
